Mick O'Dea (RHA)
The first solo show began in early November and featured new work by Mick O'Dea, a Dublin based painter. O'Dea worked with the Independant Artists group of the 1960's, figurative painters like Michael Kane and Barrie Cooke. Although O'Dea is primarily a draughtsman, he is equally adept in portraiture, landscape and figuartive work. In 1997 he was awarded and M.A. in European Fine Art after a year study in Barcelona. He is a member of The Royal Hibernian Academy and of Aosdana.
Mick's show was entitled 'Inflammation of the Imagination' (new Works on Paper). It was opened by Barry Murphy, Chairman of the Office of Public Works. On Friday 5th November 1999.
