According to the artist; “Drawings and paintings of both national
and international regions create subtle energy and movement. The charcoal
drawings are self-referential. In contemporary society travel has increased
and each individual conducts a personal journey as a clarification of
his or her consciousness.” Matthew O’Kane demonstrates his
relative interpretations of personal and universal experiences; this
is the exploration of surroundings and influences, coupled with the
observation of sociological phenomena of travelling and displacement.
